Review: Supper Stockholm

Last week, I went out to dinner with work. We went to a South American restaurant named Supper.  The chain has multiple locations scattered across Sweden and I have heard a lot of people talking about it recently.

Getting seated
I visited Supper on a Tuesday evening with about 15 other people and we had a reservation which ensured that we didn't have to wait to be seated. The restaurant was semi-crowded and I wouldn't expect it to be a problem to get a table within a reasonable amount of time without a reservation. The venue is probably a lot more crowded during weekends.

Food style and quality
Supper serves tapas- styled South American dishes that you are supposed to share with your group. We had a set menu that consisted of three different smaller dishes and two larger ones that we shared. A good thing about sharing larger plates is that you get to try a lot of different things and you can order food successively while eating if you don't know how much you need to get full. You won't be stuck with a huge portion of something you didn't really like and you won't end up leaving the restaurant hungry since it is fairly simple to order more food without getting way too much of it. Of course, this affects the price a lot. This concept can get really expensive or be really cheap depending on how many people you are and how hungry you are. Judging by the portion sizes, two smaller dishes and one large dish is probably enough for two people. When I was there with work, everyone got really full and there was a lot of food left so it is probably a good idea to order less than the amounts of food included in our set menu.

Small dishes: Can be shared between 2-4 people depending on if you order larger dishes as well.

Dish 1: Ceviche Del Caribe 125 SEK
Lime marinated salmon, cod, shrimp, cilantro, chili.
This was my first time giving ceviche a try and I was pleasantly surprised. It was really tasty, looked beautiful and it was difficult to stop eating it.

Dish 2: Chili 135 SEK
Slowcooked chuck beef flavoured with chocolate and chili.
A little bit too spicy for my tastebuds but it was yummy to pair it with sour cream and nachos.

Dish 3: Taco de Cerdo 135 SEK
Salted pork belly, smoked bell pepper, mango chutney.
This was not your average friday taco. These tacos were filled with a combination that I hadn't heard of before. It had a very distinct, spicy but good taste and you should try it if given the chance.

Larger dishes:

Dish 1: Cerdo Asado 219 SEK
Pork belly, chipotleglaze, melon, sweet potato fries.
This was my favourite of all the dishes we got. The meat was tender, the chipotleglaze was not too spicy and the sweet melon added an exciting twist to the meal. Along with it, we got some sweet potato fries that I just couldn't stop eating more of.

Dish 2: Atún 269 SEK
Tuna, pickled bell pepper, mango, salad.
This was the dish I enjoyed the least. I generally find tuna pretty tasteless and boring, and this was no exception. The mango salad added a nice twist to it, but it was not enough and the dish was not nearly as exciting as the Cerdo Asado.

Service
The staff was very friendly, efficient and always ready to accommodate our every need. If you wanted something, they were there right away and took care of it. I really have no complaints whatsoever when it comes to the staff! They were also very informative about the restaurant and knowledgeable about the food and drinks that they were serving.

Ambiance
The venue has a central location in the city and the restaurant is built inside a basement which creates a cozy atmosphere. In addition to that, it is supposed to look like a city square in a warm country. The floor looks like stone, but it is actually a carpet which reduces a lot of noise and makes it easier to hear what everyone is saying, especially if you are part of a larger group.

Location
The chain has multiple locations across Sweden. I went to Tegnérgatan 37, 111 61 Stockholm

Final Opinion: If you want a cozy atmosphere, let your tastebuds explore new food and get dishes that it would be difficult to make at home, you should try this place out.
Pros: Beautiful location, large restaurant and a great place to explore new tastes.
Cons: You are supposed to order a couple of dishes and share them with the rest of the group, which can get complicated. It can also get really expensive depending on how hungry you are and how many things you want to try.
Would I go again: Yes

 Taco de cerdo

 Atún

 Cerdo Asado
 Sweet potato fries.
